The first Mandarin Marriage Encounter Weekend in Melaka, organised by the Johor Ecclesial Team, was held from 24 – 26 October 2025 at Good Shepherd Seminary, Melaka. It was a beautiful spirit-filled experience attended by 10 couples and 1 religious sister, with couples married from 9 to 30 years.
Under the gentle guidance of Fr Clement Lim (Bentong) and the presenting teams Jeffrey & Agnes (Johor), Joseph & Christine (Penang), and Edwin & Clarence (Kuala Lumpur), the participants journeyed together in an atmosphere of openness, sharing, and rediscovery.
Throughout the Weekend, couples were invited to pause from their busy routines and to focus deeply on each other. Many rediscovered the joy of truly listening and communicating with their spouse — rekindling feelings that brought them together in the first place. Some shared that it felt like “falling in love all over again.”
The Weekend was a grace-filled encounter that touched hearts and strengthened relationships. We encourage all couples and religious to make time for yourselves to attend a Marriage Encounter Weekend. It will be one of the greatest gifts you can offer each other — the gift of renewed love, understanding, and connection.
